A good read. However, I feel like the old ways of VICE captured the millennial/2000s youth culture with the same ethos: “It's about entertainment. It's about participation. And most importantly, it's about connection.” Is it really Gen Z or is that just the rule for being part of and creating culture?

Happy International Women’s Day! Today, I fly back from a trip to Japan with the original woman (in my world at least), my mother, Deborah Charlemagne who completed her World Marathon Majors during Tokyo Marathon 2024. She has probably done 5x more marathons and 10x more races than that. Yet, when asķed what all these races have taught her, it was a simple “it’s all mental.” To expand: strength isn’t only physical and life is a marathon with success at all ages. It’s not about the fastest time, it’s about *your* finish — a lesson to learn as careers are LONG. Plus, she is living proof that #overachievingisgenetic …maybe I will do ONE marathon someday 😉

I haven't done many public/ PR things since moving full time corporate, but being a fan-girl turned into friend of Helena Price and getting to be behind her lens with a cup of coffee on my couch was too much of a dream to pass up. Cheers to sharing (founder) stories!

And it's here! The article I look forward to most every year! Each time I get on an airplane or book a trip I feel a great sense of unexplainable gratitude -- thankful that I can afford to travel and grateful for parents, who even if they could not afford lots of family vacations, always inspired my curiosity about the world and fed my desire to read about all the stories it has to share.
